THORNBURY Art Club is among 30 South West community groups to be shortlisted for a £500 grant.

The money will be allocated after a public vote to decide which organisations should benefit from the Skipton Building Society's Grassroots Giving campaign.

Hundreds of applications have been received for a share of £82,000 - to be shared between 164 groups across the UK.

Having made it to this stage, it will now come down to the community to choose who should benefit.

Votes can be cast up to October 13 by either going online to www.skiptongrg.co.uk or visiting any Skipton Building Society branch.

David Cutter, Skipton’s group chief executive, said: “We’ve shortlisted the groups who we feel will make the most of the support we can offer them.”

The Grassroots Giving programme was started as part of Skipton’s 160th anniversary celebrations in 2013.
