Cyclist in hospital after hit-and-run crash

A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after a hit-and-run crash in Almondsbury.

He was was hit by a car which tried to overtake him as he was passing a parked van on the A38 Goucester Road at about 3.30pm yesterday.

Avon and Somerset police said today that the cyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance after the incident.

A spokesperson said: "Thankfully the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing."

The car failed to stop after the collision and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage relating to the incident, which happened on the northbound carriageway.
