Engineers of the future test Lego robots
Pupils in Year 6 at Manorbrook Primary School believe a day focusing on Lego robotics has improved their understanding of what engineers do.
Children had to build, then programme and test Lego robots, to develop their coding skills. The robots had to perform a dance routine and score goals in robot football during the day run by the company STEMworks.
Year 6 teacher Elaine Drayton said: “It was great to see the children working together to review their programming and make adjustments so that they were more accurate. There was a fantastic buzz in the room throughout the day and the children achieved so much in such a short time.”
The event, which was sponsored by Horizon Nuclear Power, was held to promote engineering amongst primary school aged children.
