Get on your bike for brain tumour charity
A Thornbury woman is looking to raise money for a charity that has helped her deal with a brain tumour.
Julie Harvey has grade 4 brain tumour for which there is no cure. Over the last year she has undergone an operation, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Despite that she’s been busy raising money for the Brain Tumour Support charity. She told Thornbury Voice: “During the year I have remained very active, doing a 2 mile open water swim and walking 26 miles around Edinburgh on a charity walk. I have been having counselling from them which I find invaluable and would be lost without them.”
She’s now organising a charity bike ride on Saturday 26 May from Thornbury Sailing Club. Riders can choose between 33k, 64k and 54k distances. Prices are £20, £25, £30 and includes a finishers medal and tea and cake. Entries must be in by 12th May.
