Housing appeal decision expected in weeks
OPPONENTS of a scheme to build up to 350 homes at Cleve Park in Thornbury could hear the outcome of a planning inquiry by the end of May.
An appeal was lodged by Welbeck Strategic Land against rejection of the proposal by South Gloucestershire Council.
Its plan also included a care home for the elderly and 14 self-build plots on the site at the junction of Morton Way and Grovesend Road. It was refused by the council on the grounds of the harm it would do to the town.
Many people opposed to the plan attended the appeal hearing, which was conducted by inspector Clive Hughes.
His decision could be published at the end of May or early June.
