Inmate walks out of Leyhill open prison

POLICE are appealing for sightings of a prisoner who has absconded from HMP Leyhill.

Sean Porter walked out of the open jail near Thornbury on Monday morning between 11am and 11.45am.

Police say he was serving a seven-year sentence for offences including robbery and aggravated burglary.

Porter is 43, white, about 5ft 8in tall and of a medium/stocky build.

He has a brown Mohican hairstyle, a scar on his head and a tattoo of a smiley face on his arm.

When last seen he was wearing a blue t-shirt and dark shorts.

Police have called on anyone who sees Porter not to approach him but to call 999 and quote the incident reference number 5221 125 913.

He has links to Swindon and police have called on anyone who thinks they know where he is to call 101, using the same reference number.
