Man killed as concrete mixer crashes into wall near Thornbury
A MAN has died after the concrete mixer he was driving collided with a wall on the A38 near Thornbury.
Avon and Somerset police say the driver, who was in his 30s, died at the scene of the accident near Tytherington Quarry at about 3.45pm yesterday.
A spokesperson said: "His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time."
Police collision investigators have examined the road, which remained closed today between the Grovesend Road junction and the Alveston Hill junction while the vehicle was recovered.
Police have appealed to anyone with information about the accident to call 101 and quote the incident reference number 5219 229 938.
