Promotion push continues for cricketers

Thornbury Cricket Club are pushing on two fronts for promotion this season.

The first team are one point of the top in the West of England Premier 2 Glos/Wilts league after eleven games, having only suffered 3 defeats and winning 8 games including the local derby against neighbours Rockhampton.

The second team are still top of their table having lost only one game against Cinderford, after going the first half of the season unbeaten in the Gloucestershire County Cricket League Division 2.  

Strong individual performances included 148 by James Tubbycliffe against Ullenwood Bharat and a 240-run partnership by Marcus Wormwell (121) and Josh Slade (also 121) against Oldlands.

The 3rd team are currently fourth in the Bristol & District Cricket League 8, with young 16-year-old Praneel Choughle scoring an unbeaten 117 against Almondsbury.
