A GROUP of children from Tockington Manor School attended a service of remembrance at the South West Woodland War Memorial.

The year six pupils were invited to be involved in the annual event at the Memorial Woodlands in Alveston to remember and honour the servicemen and women who gave their lives while serving their country.

Pupil Archie Symonds also laid a wreath to the sound of a lone bugler playing the Last Post.

During the event, the children met Bristol’s Lord Lieutenant, Peaches Golding, who commended them on the example they had set for the school.

Tockington Manor was founded in 1947 as a boarding school to serve military families and celebrates its 70th birthday this year.
