Thornbury’s game against our local rivals Rockhampton was ruined by the weather.  Heavy rain fell on Thornbury’s ground, meaning the game had to be cancelled after only 10 overs.

Since that disappointment, Thornbury’s first team have enjoyed good victories against Burbage & Easton Royal by 6 wickets and Biddestone at home by 74 runs, cementing a very strong middle table position in the West of England Prem 2 Glos/Wilts division.  It’s removed any worries about relegation with a couple more games to go.

Thornbury scored a tremendous total of 365 for 4 in the match against Biddestone with Dan Davis hitting 176, making him the leading run scorer in the division with 744 runs at an average of 50.

The second team have also had a decent month beating Gloucester City Winget and promotion hopefuls Cinderford, to make a top four finish in the Gloucester County League Division 2 a realistic goal during the remaining part of the season.

The biggest success of the season is the third team which is  currently second in their division in the Bristol & District league. Promotion is now in their own hands with only two league games to go.  Success would be a boost for the club, with the team having blooded many young players throughout the course of the season.
