Do you live in the Charfield area?

Do you live in the Charfield area? If so would you be able to visit housebound service users who are unable to visit a library themselves due to either temporary or permanent disability and provide them with regular reading materials? Volunteering for South Gloucestershire Libraries, you would need a full DBS check and have access to your own transport.

Do you want to get outdoors during the long winter months? If so you may like to join the working parties at Filnore Wood. They meet between 10am-12.30pm on the second Sunday and the fourth Wednesday of the month and take part in woodland and grassland management - coppicing, scything, path building, hedge laying and bramble clearing. Training given.

Meet, greet and get to know the people from your community with this versatile volunteering role with the British Heart Foundation. Are you a social butterfly? Love getting in to weird and wacky conversations? Always have a welcoming smile on your face? Gain valuable experience in customer service adding value to your CV.

Whether you’re a keen rummager, an organised operator or love the look of a freshly ironed shirt the British Heart Foundation have a role for you. If you like things to be neat and tidy then they need your help sorting their donations, operating the steamer and uncovering the hidden riches that lay beneath.

Age UK South Gloucestershire based in Thornbury need volunteers to provide administration support to the volunteering team. This will involve extensive use of a computer as every contact they make with a member of the public needs to be recorded on a data base which also involves confident use of the internet.
