The Prison Advice and Care Trust operating within HMP Leyhill and HMP Eastwood Park are looking for volunteers for a range of roles;

The Prison Advice and Care Trust operating within HMP Leyhill and HMP Eastwood Park are looking for volunteers for a range of roles; 

• Visitor Centre – meet and greet families, provide emotional support, serve refreshments and basic admin tasks. 

• Catering – within the Visits Hall 

• Play – within the Visits Hall engaging in play activities with children of all ages, allowing families space to talk. 

Thornbury Carers Group are seeking volunteers who are able to undertake activities with their group of carers in their monthly meetings. If you have a hobby, skill or interesting talk to share with the group please get in touch.

Dr Jenner’s House, Museum and Garden are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join their Archive & Collections team and Front of House team. Archivists will help with all aspects of collection and archival management such as conservation, processing, preservation and reference. The Front of House volunteers will assist in the day-to-day running of the museum and provide visitors with an excellent visitor experience. 

Thornbury in Bloom is seeking volunteers to work as part of a team helping with groundwork: weeding; mowing; keeping beds tidy; bulb planting; pruning. There are weekly working parties starting in February which increase to 2-3 per week up to July/August. They are also seeking a Treasurer to be responsible for all financial transactions for the organisation. There are 11 meetings per year, usually on the first Monday of each month between 7-9pm.
