A HERITAGE project is recruiting volunteers to help run its events, with a training day planned for Thornbury.

The Forgotten Landscape scheme aims to conserve and improve the lower Severn Vale levels - the foreshore and coastal floodplain of the River Severn that includes areas such as Oldbury-on-Severn, Shepperdine and Hill.

The event management training will take place on the morning of Saturday, February 24,  at the Turnberries community centre in Bath Road.

Volunteers are needed by the project to help out at events ranging from bird walks and history talks to the Severn Festival and although the training is free, places must be booked.

Anyone interested should email emma.cross@southglos.gov.uk or call 01454 864265.

By visiting the project’s website www.aforgottenlandscape.org.uk details of other events can also be found.
