THORNBURY Volunteer Centre is encouraging people to help their community by using their spare time to take part in a range of activities.

Those running the centre said there were opportunities for volunteers to get involved in such things as conservation, fundraising, driving, befriending, administration and IT.

Most volunteering roles require no specific experience, just a willingness to help others, and people can give as much or as little time as they wish.

Groups and organisations that need volunteers are also urged to contact the centre so it can help find people to get involved.

The centre is based in Thornbury’s town hall in High Street and open from 10.30am-noon each weekday.

Emails can be sent to mail@volunteer-thornbury.co.uk and there is a website at www.volunteer-thornbury.co.uk while calls can be made on 01454 413392.
