Youth drama group impresses with “triumphant” Les Miserables
A STANDING ovation brought the curtain down on Les Miserables, the spring production of Northavon Youth Theatre Company.
The schools edition of the hit musical ran for five nights in Thornbury’s Armstrong Hall - an ambitious challenge for the young actors but one which earned high praise from audiences.
Lyn Kidd’s production was described as “a triumph of colour and energy, showcasing some outstanding young talent”.
The stage crew was praised for keeping the action moving, while well-controlled sound and lighting resulted in a high quality production.
An orchestra accompanied the cast, which included Freddie Dixon-Lewis in the role of Jean Valjean, Josh Moore as Javert and Robyn Purchase as Fantine.
