Organisers of an annual Zumbathon that has raised over £10000 since it started in 2014 are hoping for a record turnout.

The event, at Castle School in Thornbury, has become a popular event and raised £2280 in 2017.  £900 of that was donated to Ezzy’s Wish to Walk campaign, with other charities to benefit including GAIN, The Teenage Cancer Trust, Crohns & Colitis, Wallace & Gromit appeal, British Heart Foundation and Ups & Downs

The money was raised by sponsorship, a raffle and teas and coffees on the day.

Event organiser Natasha Johnson said: “We do a Zumbathon once a year and have adopted the system whereby people can choose whatever charity they wish to raise money for. We find people make a bigger effort when they can choose their own charity.”

This year’s event takes place between 10am and 1pm on Sunday 15 April at Castle School.  If you would like to take part, please go to www.zumbathornbury.com to register.
